ACCREDITATION PLANNING AND CONSULTING

Accreditation planning is the process whereby the laboratory's senior management prepares its plans for achieving accreditation. ASCLD Consulting offers laboratory management expert guidance in this process using proprietary tools developed for application to forensic laboratories.

Evaluation:

Conducting a gap analysis to determine where improvements are required to the existing management system in order to achieve accreditation against ISO-IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories plus the Supplemental Requirements of ASCLD/LAB-International.

Implementation Planning:

Identifying the stakeholders and the scope and sequence of activities required to implement an effective management system compliant with the accreditation criteria.

Scheduling:

Identifying the resources and durations required to implement an effective management system compliant with the accreditation criteria. ASCLD Consulting will also provide progress monitoring services and regular schedule updates where requested.

Training:

Our generic training materials are available for customizing to meet the unique needs of each ASCLD Consulting customers. These materials support the following specific courses that can be delivered at your laboratory location:

• 5 day Assessor Training
• Other customized courses can be prepared on request.

Documentation:

ASCLD Consulting personnel can provide direct assistance to prepare the first draft of manuals and procedures needed by laboratories to establish the documented management system required to achieve accreditation.

Audits:

Gap analysis audits, internal audits, supplier audits and assessment audits are all conducted by ASCLD Consulting in accordance with the requirements of ISO 19011 Guidelines for the Auditing of Quality and Environmental Management Systems.

System Improvement:

Our personnel are available to work directly with our customers and identify where improvements to existing management systems can be made with a view to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory documentation and processes.
